Personal History | Born on Earth, on 10 June, 2340, at Admiral Phlox Medical Center, in Miami, Florida. He was born two minutes after his twin sister, Amanda. Their parents, Robert and Samantha, had a home nearby, where they lived, when Robert was home on leave from Starfleet. Samantha, was a local school teacher, who was working to become the school principal. Their early life was full of love and encouragement. A couple years after their birth, they were joined by their new brother, Duncan. The family was overjoyed with the new addition and, when their father was home, the family was complete and very happy. As the children grew, and learned about the larger world around them, they were also taught about their natural abilities as full-blooded Betazoids. They listened to the stories of their larger family, back on Betazed, which they visited when they could, and vise versa. They were taught the rules that they had to follow, given their abilitues. While it took them a few times, they finally learned to stay out of the minds of others, unless they were given permission. Micheal and Amanda, being twins, were exceptionally close. As twins were extremely rare with Betazoids, they were studied, discreetly, by medical and telepathic elders from the homeworld. The reason for this was due to the fact that history had shown, going back several millennia, that those of multiple births were stronger in their abilities than others. Some even seemed to have the genetic memory abilities of the ancient Betazoids. Those abilities included telekinesis, precognition, psionics, and even pyrokinesis. School life was normal, with Micheal doing well in his classwork, even becoming a pretty good first baseman and batter for the various childhood teams he had been a part of. Upon high school graduation, both he and his sister knew exactly what they wanted to do...join Starfleet. So, they went to the recruiter together and passed the entrance exam. During their four tears at the Academy, they grew a new batch of friends and started to build up their new adult lives. After graduation, they hugged one another tightly, saying their goodbyes with some tears, as they were going to separate ships. It would be the first time in their lives to date, that the twins would be separated by such distances. Micheal then shipped out to his first assignment, as junior helmsman aboard an older Abbe Class PT Destroyer, USS Ajax. He spent the next four years fine tuning the various flight lessons he learned at the Academy, until he could fly both the small patrol/warship, and her shuttle, as if they were extensions of his own body. In the early part of 2366, Starfleet Command made the decision to finally retire both the Abbe Class and the Ajax, and her crew was redeployed out into the fleet. Micheal found himself in service limbo, temporarily assigned to the Utopia Planitia facilities. Over the next two weeks, he helped out during the decommissioning of the Ajax. It was a bittersweet time, as he was looking forward to the next part of his journey, while saying goodbye to his former home. Almost two weeks after he settled into his role, the emergency call came out. The majority of the fleet had engaged a new foe, out at Wolf 359. That foe, was the Borg. Reports quickly came in that the single Borg vessel tore through the assembled fleet, as if they were tissue paper. Then the call went out that would haunt Micheal for the rest of his days...Abandon Sol. The next few days seemed to go by in a blur, especially when he felt a sharp stabbing pain in his brain, which before he lost consciousness, sounded like his entire family, Amanda especially, screaming out in pain and terror. The mental shock caused him to collapse on the bridge, slipping into a coma. He was immediately rushed to sickbay, where he remained, as everyone struggled to both survive and give some hopes he would wake up. When he did, he found himself in the one of the cargo bays of the Ambassador Class starship, USS Jane Addams. He was told that he, and the rest of the staff and civilians aboard the dockyards, had been rescued by various starships that were grabbing what they could before the Borg arrived to destroy the rest. His second day aboard the mighty ship, he was offered the role of Chief Flight Ops, by her captain, as the previous chief has been killed. He accepted, as he attempted to put his life back together. What happens next is it to Fate... |
