Mission:
Admiral Ambition and the Borg
Location: Deck 2: XO's Quarters
Sakura, Kimora and Leila had been lying under all the mattresses in the quarters which they used as a possible protective covering for any falling debris or exploding bulkheads. It was moments like these, that Sakura had wondered if they should have exited the ship with the rest of the refugees on Andor. Never did she figure that they would immediately be thrown into a battle with the Borg. It seemed like things were getting bad and she had awaited orders for abandon ship, then the ship jumped into warp. Which didn't end too well. "Stay under here girls."
Crawling out from under the mattresses, Meng looked around the room which was barely lit due to the emergency lights. Walking over to the terminal, she tapped the screen that never came to life, indicating a loss of power. Forcing the door opened, she stuck her head out, looking down the damaged corridor. Right now, the inside the quarters seemed to be the safe place at the moment. But without any idea on what this deck was currently looking like, Sakura had no idea on just how safe this place would remain. For all she knew an emergency forcefield could be erected down the hall which was helping to keep this deck together.
In all honesty, she could sit around waiting for a team to arrive to fill them in on what was happening or just go check things out for herself. Opening up the emergency crate, she brought on board, Sakura pulled out a tricorder. "Girls you both stay there under those mattresses. Don't move until I return."
"Mommy where are you going?" Kimora questioned.
"Not too far honey," Sakura answered. "I need for you to keep an eye out for your sister. Can you do that for me?"
Kimora stared at her mother brief, thinking about the question. Then she nodded. "Yes mama."
"Good girl." Grabbing a flashlight, that she wrapped around her wrist she proceeded to exit the quarters, making her way do the corridor. For the most, she knew deck two had to be fairly empty. The deck consisted of the Captains quarter's, XO's place, VIP guest quester and senior officer's quarters who technically should all have been on duty. Then there was there was the training room and Captain's dining room which should have been empty. There was a bit of damage, but for the most part the deck seemed to be stable and secure. The wall panels all around was down, so ship wide communication had to be down. It would only be a matter of time, before there was a ship wide sweep of every deck searching for survivors.
The good news, Meng thought was that they had enough supplies in their quarters to last. The bad news was that she had no clue what was happening around the rest of the ship. There were no Borg ships around, but that didn't mean that none had gotten onboard and was making their way around the ship. In all honesty, she considered moving onto to another deck, but that would be moving too far away from the girls. Regardless of what was happening, they were her first priority. Just above her was deck one, which housed the main bridge. Jason was definitely up there handling business or running around the ship elsewhere helping to get things together.
Accepting the deck to be secure enough, Sakura returned back to the quarters where the girls were still located under the mattress. "It's safe to come out now."
One by one the girls did as instructed. "Is its safe mommy," Leila questioned.
Kneeling down next to the scared child, Sakura quickly embraced her. "Yes, we're safe."
Kimora looked around towards the door. "Where is daddy? Is he coming to get us?"
"Honey, your father has duties. But in the meantime, we are safe, and he will get to us as quickly as possible. Just be patient. I'm certain the rest of the ship is in worse condition than this deck."
"Worse condition," said Kimora. Her tone indicated a new level of fear. "The ship is falling apart?"
"No, the ship is not falling apart," the mother assured both children. "Very damaged yes, but far from falling apart. We are going to be just fine. We have everything that we need right here. And this deck is secure." Reaching out, she placed a reassuring arm around Kimora as well. The ship wasn't falling apart, but something did feel wrong besides the fact they had been an intense battle. The sooner a team came through with answers the better she would feel.
