Mission:
The Raz Defense
Location: Guest Quarters
The Cadets sat among themselves trying to wrap their heads around the last battle with the Borg. One friend was currently laid up in the infirmary and another one was dead. This was something that none of the Cadets were prepared to deal with. Somewhere along the line, the Academy was supposed to teach them how to deal with situations such as this, but I guess they haven't reached the part of their lessons yet. And everyone was so busy that the Cadets were left to figure it out all out on their own, while doing grunt work.
"Nobody else wants to say it," Alisa said breaking the silence. "But we have no business being here whatsoever."
Kenneth turned his attention to the other cadet. "What they hell are you talking about?"
Turning towards the male cadet, Alisa took a step forward. "Ian is dead and there's a chance to Yulk will never walk again, because of what happened to his back. And now were just sitting around waiting for these Borg to come finish what they started. We should run at this point and avoid the core worlds."
Andrea Hernandez had been silent. Their friend made a good point, though she came off very hysterical. Which was based off all the emotions she was feeling. "Perhaps Alisa has a point. What good are we really doing on this ship? I'm a helm cadet with nothing to fly."
"It doesn't matter," Hunt spoke up. "We maybe just Cadets right now. But we are future Starfleet Officers. And we have an obligation."
"An obligation to a post where we have no purpose," Andrea reminded him. "It's better for us to request to leave at the next stop and go somewhere safer to be a of better use. Its not abandoning Starfleet but actually serving in a better capacity."
"I still don't like the idea."
"That's because you like the idea of being on a ship fighting for your life," Alisa responded. "My interest is in science and that's not happening here for me. Regardless of what you two plan on doing, I'm getting out of here."
The Security cadet simply waved her off in frustration. "How about you Andrea?"
"Goes back to my original point," Hernandez replied. "Where can I help out and have a purpose. At this time, it's clearly not here for me. So, my vote is to go elsewhere. But I understand, if you chose to stay on the Crazy Horse."
Holding his words inside, Kenneth simply nodded. He lost one friend, and another would be going elsewhere due to his injuries to receive more extensive medical care. And now his last two friends were about to embark elsewhere. It was hard, not knowing what happened to his family on Earth who may have escaped, but due to the communications blackout he had no clue where they were. Though if they did escape, they all would likely head to his uncle's home on Trill. But odds are if not some, but all may not have gotten off Earth in time. "If you all wish to leave, I can respect that. Just figured that we would all stick together."
"That's why I want you to come with us," the science Cadet mentioned. "No point in you staying here either. Promise that you will at least consider were saying."
Hunt simply nodded, indicating that he would at least consider their suggestion.
"Alright everyone," Andrea announced. "We got to get ready to board the Crazy Horse. Good thing all our personal belongings can fit in a backpack, which we have been lugging around for three weeks now."
The group couldn't help but to laugh. Before this whole Borg thing kicked off, they had been on a simple training mission on the edge of the Sol system. And they have been caught in the middle of all this since attempting to land on Earth. They all had experienced so many losses. More than anyone their ages should know.
"Let's get out of here," Hunt spoke picking up his backpack.
