Mission: Resistance is Necessary
Location: Olympus Mons

Sakura piloted the runabout from Utopia down to the surface of Mars. Most were trying to leave Mars anyway they could. Millions were stranded on the surface of no way to escape. The starships in orbit were packed to compacity. Starfleet, transport and private shuttles. It didn't take long for the team to arrive at Olympus Mons.

"Alright we get in and out as quick as possible," Jason instructed. "This is a good distance from the public. But remember there are desperate people looking for a ship out of here. So, Sakura lock the door and don't let anyone in who isn't us. Elias you can lead us to the promised land."

"I'm not sure about the promised land, but I can lead us to lots of phasers and arms." Elias smiles at Jason.

"This facility is built into the mountain itself, meant to be a defense bunker for the United Earth MACO in case Earth ever fell to the Romulans. After the war, it housed the surplus weapons made for the war along with housing the MACO records after MACO was consolidated into Starfleet Security in 2201."

"And it's just been sitting here after a hundred plus years," the Commander replied as the officers exited the runabout. "Outside of being on the books, I guess history have forgotten about most places like this one."

“History was not kind to the MACO” Elias elaborated. “After the consolidation, they were quietly forgotten about.”

"Sounds as if you believe they should make a comeback?"

"Maybe," Elias started as they approached the massive doors of the bunker. "We're facing a new enemy. One that can adapt to our playbooks and tactics. Maybe we need to start thinking outside the box. The asymmetric, the guerilla."

The Caitian stops before the bunker door.

"I'll need a minute to punch the codes into the mainframe."

Reeves looked around keeping watch to ensure no one else was coming their way. The area was pretty much abandoned. Most people were making their way to flightlines. On their way in, they could see the entire population making their way to those areas.

Elias took several moments, the computer on the door was old, pre isoliner chip old. It whirred and clicked before the heavy doors clunked unlocked and parted open.

“Ready when you, Commander”

The two entered the massive bunker. With all the weapons and various equipment one could prepare for their own personal little war. "Let's load up on as much possible."

“There should be dollys and carts about here. The computer is going take a bit to warm up, old pre-duotronic designs” Elias elaborated as they cranked the lights on.

Jason grabbed a dolly and started loading up some old rifles. "If my history is correct Caitians didn't join the Federation until much later than this place was constructed. And McEntyre is clearly a Human last name. So what's your family's story?"

“My ancestor, Jeremiah, was born on a caitian transport that was raided by Klingons. The Chief Medical officer on the Wolfe, the Starfleet ship that rescued him, adopted him. She was the Granddaughter of General Josiah McEntyre and Dr. Magusson. Jeremiah’s birth parents were killed in the raid.” Elias explained as he too, loaded up weapons and armor. He loaded crates onto dollys and wheeled carts.

“Since then, the family has continued on from that same bloodline.”

"No one ever decided to return to Cait or retrace your roots?"

“Once. It was a decent trip but I like the life I’ve built and the lives my family built. Cait maybe where Jeremiah started but Dallas, Earth will always be home.” Elias replied.

“Once we’re done here, I’ll pull the main computer core and dump the files onto my PADD and we can haul ass”

"Good to hear. Everything is loaded and ready to get moved onto the ship." The two exited and began loading everything back on the ship. "Sakura has everything looking on sensor?"

"Everything in the clear, no company in sight."

Elias nods to Jason, the last of the pallets loaded. He heads towards another set of doors and types into a wall panel.

"Last thing before we leave. I need to gather a few things. A few artifacts and such. Otherwise, they'll be lost forever." Elias explained to the Commander.

Reeves was definitely curious about artifacts that Elias could be speaking about. Following the Lieutenants lead, he wait for the doors to be opened.

Elias opens another set of doors, entering another room. Inside looked like an archive and records center. Elias moves to a large console and starts typing.

"This is all the records, logs, and AARs from the MACO. It's a playbook and historical record." He finishes the download quite quickly and turns back to the Commander.

"Ready to go, Commander"

"Jason," the call came from the runabout. "We have some vehicles heading in this direction. About ten miles out. Looks like someone spotted out landing."

The Commander turned his attention to Elias. "Alright we got to get moving with what we can now."

"Right behind you." Elias nods, taking up his rifle again. "Let's double time it then" He says as he begins to run towards the entrance.

The two made it back in the runabout as they caught the vehicles making their way up the road. Closing the doors behind them, Jason moved up to the front of the runabout. Honestly he hated having to abandon desperate people, but he couldn't risk possibly losing this ship and all the things they acquire. "Sakura take us back to the Jane Addams."

As the three vehicles arrived on the scene, the runabout was already well on its way in the air making its way back to the Jane Addams. Sakura felt a certain level of sadness to the very place she had made a home the last few years. But she had her family and overall, that was all that really mattered.
